Beech Mountain boasts the title of highest elevated town on the east coast, being tucked along the top of the Blue Ridge range in North Carolina.
Although a booming ski resort in the winter, the summer is just as lively. Mountain biking at Beech Mountain Resort, hiking, festivals; Beech Mountain is your other summer “Beech” getaway. Every season here has something to offer.
Whether you’re a mountain biker or not, you can ride the chair lift to the Skybar, take in the view, and ride back down. A disk frisbee course is available for those who’d like to descend on foot.
Its quite a serene place to visit in the summer; riding the chair lift offers relaxing, cool breezes and unreal views. If you don’t do anything else, do the chair lift.
Beech Mountain has cozy lodging, plenty of places to roam and lots of fresh air. The area is also known to be accommodating to pets; similar to neighboring town Banner Elk.
So if you are looking for something a bit less crowded in the summer, opt for a different Beech.
