Key West Pink Shrimp are caught off the Florida coast, near the Dry Tortugas. Their pristine environment ensures a tender texture and sweet, yet mild taste. Nearly year round, you’ll find these guys on menus all around the island, with a bit more scarcity late summer to early fall.
We tasted “head on” shrimp at The Stoned Crab, on a platter also accompanied with meaty stone crab, oysters, ceviche and smoked fish dip. When the shrimp heads remain intact, it further preserves the unique, crisp, slightly sugary taste of these delicious crustaceans. Be sure to add them on your foodie bucket list in Key West.
